This summary provides a glimpse into the impact and process of the collaborative IDP protection needs assessment in Afghanistan in 2012. Governmental, nongovernmental and multi-lateral actors contributed to the process, working together to design the project and feed into the research analysis. The study presents an over-due systematic attempt to provide protection-related information on internal displacement in Afghanistan, and hopes to spark interest in both the country specific findings and profiling of IDP situations in general.
JIPS supported these actors in the reporting and analysis as well as to come together through a collaborative workshop process to agree on the recommendations derived from the study.
